Jalisco State Congress adopts Red Jalisco network and addresses utility debt

The Jalisco State Congress has signed an agreement to migrate its internet services to ‘Red Jalisco’, a high-speed public infrastructure managed by the state government. This transition aims to optimize public resources and is expected to save the legislature approximately 500,000 pesos annually by reducing reliance on private providers.

Separately, Deputy Montserrat Pérez Cisneros, president of the Administration Commission, has called for the Congress to resolve an outstanding debt of approximately 259,000 pesos owed to the water utility SIAPA for the first half of 2026. The payment has been delayed due to a lack of consensus within the Commission regarding a necessary budget reallocation. Pérez Cisneros emphasized that the legislature should set an example by settling its debts promptly.
