Jalisco victim assistance commission reports 4.6 million pesos available
The State Executive Commission for Victim Assistance in Jalisco (CEEAVJ) has reported that 4.6 million pesos remain available for economic compensations. This announcement follows concerns raised by victims of crimes and collectives of families of disappeared persons regarding the depletion of funds for the remainder of the year.
Of the 40 million pesos allocated for 2026, 37 million pesos were designated for subsidiary economic compensations (item 4111), while 3 million pesos were assigned for aid and assistance measures (item 4412). While the funds for aid and assistance have been exhausted, the CEEAVJ stated that these services are currently being covered by the remaining funds in the compensation category to ensure services are not suspended.
The CEEAVJ has been requesting a budget increase since June to ensure continued coverage through 2026. Meanwhile, the Jalisco Congress has approved actions to monitor the use of the Aid, Assistance, and Integral Reparation Fund (FAARI), including requests for information and explanations from the state government regarding the fund's management.
