Jamaica Constabulary Force increases presence in Half-Way Tree amid gang feud

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has increased its presence in Half-Way Tree, St Andrew, following reports of a potential conflict between criminal gangs. The tension reportedly stems from a dispute between the Park Lane and Ambrook Lane gangs regarding extortion activities.

Reports indicate that members of the Ambrook Lane gang have recently entered territories controlled by the Park Lane gang. Both groups have traditionally engaged in collecting protection money from local businesses, vendors, and transport operators.

The St Andrew Central Police have implemented targeted investigative and operational measures to prevent an escalation of violence. The JCF stated that Half-Way Tree is a critical economic and social hub, and they will use heightened surveillance and intelligence-led interventions to ensure criminal elements do not disrupt social order or lawful economic activities.
