Jamaica Constabulary Force warns against rising online threats

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has issued a warning regarding a rising trend of online threats directed at government officials, public servants, and the general public. The agency emphasized a zero-tolerance approach to cyber-threats and the incitement of violence.

As part of this crackdown, detectives from the Transnational Crime Investigation Division (TCID) arrested and charged 30-year-old Kevaughn Spencer of Portmore, St. Catherine. Spencer is accused of posting a social media video on September 18 that incited violence against JCF members, their families, and law enforcement personnel, while also promoting general disorder.

Spencer has been charged with the use of a computer for malicious communication and the use of audio or audio-visual communication to promote criminal activity. He turned himself in to authorities on September 26 following an initial investigation and an unsuccessful police operation at his residence.
