Antigua and Barbuda Falcons win maiden CPL title

The Antigua and Barbuda Falcons secured their first-ever Caribbean Premier League (CPL) title with an eight-wicket victory over the Jamaica Kingsmen at Kensington Oval in Barbados. In only their third season in the competition, the Falcons successfully chased a target of 171, reaching 173 for two with 20 balls remaining.

Jamaica’s innings was highlighted by a spectacular 114 runs from Maaz Sadaqat, who struck eight fours and nine sixes. However, the Kingsmen were restricted to 170 for nine after Sufyan Moqim delivered a decisive bowling performance, taking four wickets for just 14 runs. Moqim was named Player of the Match for his role in triggering a middle-order collapse.

The Falcons' successful chase was anchored by an unbeaten 89-run partnership between Amir Jangoo (57*) and Hasan Nawaz (47*). Evin Lewis also contributed 38 runs. Shadab Khan was named Player of the Tournament for his overall performance throughout the competition.
