Jamaica Kingsmen defeat Trinbago Knight Riders in CPL match

The Jamaica Kingsmen secured their first victory of the 2026 Caribbean Premier League (CPL) campaign, defeating the Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) by five wickets at Sabina Park in Kingston.

After being sent in to bat, the Knight Riders posted a total of 182-6. The innings was bolstered by a 67-run partnership between captain Nicholas Pooran and Kieron Pollard, with both players scoring 44 runs. Usman Tariq contributed three wickets for TKR.

The Kingsmen's chase was led by an explosive 69 runs from opener Kirk McKenzie, who reached his half-century in just 25 balls. Despite a middle-order wobble caused by Tariq's bowling, Rovman Powell (29 not out) and Andre Russell (27) stabilized the innings to guide the Kingsmen to 183-5 with eight balls remaining.
