Jamaica Minister Seiveright calls for diverse investment and youth support
Delano Seiveright, Minister of State in Jamaica’s Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce, is advocating for diversified investment and social development to strengthen the nation’s economy.
Speaking at the launch of Global Humanity Network Inc’s ‘beyond the backpack’ programme, Seiveright emphasized the importance of investing in children. The three-year initiative aims to support public primary school students through mentorship, leadership development, and holistic assistance to remove barriers to educational success.
In a separate context, Seiveright urged entrepreneurs to look beyond traditional real estate and apartment developments. Following a meeting with entrepreneur and philanthropist Cleopatra Bernard, he called for more innovative businesses that can capitalize on Jamaica’s cultural brand, proximity to North American markets, and improving infrastructure to tap into the country’s broader economic potential.
