Jamaica Plain car crash kills one at Faulkner Hospital

A fatal car accident occurred at the Faulkner Hospital campus in Jamaica Plain on Thursday morning. A black vehicle struck metal barricades and a woman sitting on a bench before plunging down an embankment. The woman, who initially suffered life-threatening injuries, later died. Two occupants of the vehicle sustained minor injuries.

The crash caused a gas main to rupture, resulting in a leak that forced the evacuation of patients from the hospital's dialysis unit and the Belkin House building. National Grid crews responded to secure the gas service and repair the damage. Boston Police reviewed security footage and stated they believe the crash was accidental, noting there is no evidence of a deliberate act or connection to terrorism.
