Jamaican clubs Portmore United and Mount Pleasant reach Caribbean Cup final

Portmore United and Mount Pleasant Football Academy have secured their places in the Concacaf Caribbean Cup final, scheduled for December. This marks the first time since 2004 that two Jamaican clubs will face each other for the regional title.

By reaching the final, both clubs have also qualified for the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup. Jamaica Football Federation President Michael Ricketts noted that this achievement reflects the ongoing progress of local football, as Jamaican clubs have appeared in the final for four consecutive years.

In the semi-final matchups, Haiti’s Violette AC was eliminated despite a 2-1 victory over Portmore United in the second leg in Kingston. While Violette won the match, they could not overcome the 3-1 deficit from the first leg, resulting in an aggregate loss. Violette will now compete in a third-place playoff against Club Sando to vie for a potential qualifying spot in higher CONCACAF competitions.
