Jamaican Dancehall Star Finga Quenga Shot in Kingston, Hospitalized in Critical but Stable Condition

On the night of July 30, 2026, around 10:00 p.m., Ramone Simmons – the 30‑year‑old dancehall performer known as Finga Quenga – was shot multiple times outside his home in the Spoilers area of downtown Kingston, Jamaica. Witnesses say a vehicle approached, called his name and opened fire, striking him six times.

Simmons was rushed to Kingston Public Hospital, where doctors say he remains in a critical but stable condition. The artist, who recently topped YouTube Trending with the single “Step,” thanked supporters for his survival, saying he is in pain but focused on recovery. Police are investigating the incident, and the motive behind the attack has not yet been disclosed.
