FC Augsburg reaches Bundesliga top spot after comeback win

FC Augsburg has reached the top of the Bundesliga table for the first time in club history following a dramatic 4-1 comeback victory against Eintracht Frankfurt. Despite trailing 1-0 after a sixth-minute goal by Jonathan Burkardt, Augsburg dominated the second half with goals from Arijon Ibrahimovic, Robin Fellhauer, Alexis Claude-Maurice, and a late free-kick by Fabian Rieder.

Augsburg manager Manuel Baum celebrated the historic achievement by taking a screenshot of the league standings. The team now sits at the top with six points from two matches. Meanwhile, Eintracht Frankfurt remains in the lower half of the table with only one point.

Other notable Bundesliga results include Mainz securing a dominant 5-0 win over Hamburg, and Borussia Dortmund overcoming a two-goal deficit to defeat Hoffenheim 3-2. Bayern Munich's long-standing streak of finishing matches at the top of the table was also interrupted following a 0-0 draw against Schalke.
