Jamar Goff arrested for assaulting police officer and drug possession

Jamar Goff, the 23-year-old foster son of Food Network star Ree Drummond, was arrested on September 15 near the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Police responded to reports of a suspicious person sleeping near a campus fountain and discovered Goff, who allegedly stated he was waiting to purchase methamphetamine.

During the encounter, Goff reportedly attempted to flee from officers and allegedly struck a police officer in the chin with an open-handed palm strike. Following the chase, investigators reported finding a glass pipe and 1.8 grams of suspected methamphetamine on his person. Goff faces multiple charges, including second-degree assault on a law enforcement officer, drug possession, attempting to elude, and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $37,000.

Legal records indicate a history of prior incidents. In May 2025, Goff was reportedly the subject of a protective order following allegations of domestic violence and was also accused of biting a correctional officer. Goff, who joined the Drummond family in 2018, was previously a college football player for the University of Central Oklahoma.
