Ja'Marr Chase avoids serious injury after knee scare in Bengals practice

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase suffered a knee injury during Tuesday's practice after landing awkwardly while attempting a deep pass. While the incident caused initial concern, Chase reported that he is fine and described the injury as a “hyperextension” in his left knee caused by a “misstep” or “missed footing.”

Chase remained on the sidelines for the rest of the practice session and indicated he would be ready to play if a game were held immediately. The Bengals organization opted to play it safe, and Chase is not expected to participate in the team's preseason finale against the Philadelphia Eagles.

In related team news, head coach Zac Taylor confirmed that quarterback Joe Burrow and other starters will also sit out the upcoming preseason game to prepare for the regular season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on September 13.
