Ja'Marr Chase discusses celebration fine and upcoming Ravens matchup

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase has indicated he will likely discontinue his “people's elbow” touchdown celebration. Despite successfully appealing an NFL fine related to the gesture, Chase stated he intends to “dead it” due to the excessive scrutiny and opinions surrounding the move.

The celebration previously resulted in fines totaling $89,556 for Chase and teammate Tee Higgins during a game against the Houston Texans. Chase noted that while he is pleased to have won his appeal and recovered his money, he prefers to avoid further controversy.

Ahead of the Bengals' Week 7 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey acknowledged Chase as one of the best receivers in the league, noting the difficulty of limiting his explosive plays. Humphrey's comments sparked debate among analysts regarding whether such admissions signal a lack of confidence before a game.
