Indonesia Police Seize Large Narcotics Hauls Across Provinces

In June 2026 Indonesian police conducted a series of drug‑related operations across several provinces.

Polda Maluku uncovered 33 narcotics cases, arresting 40 suspects and confiscating methamphetamine, cannabis and synthetic tobacco. In Aceh, the national narcotics unit and customs stopped a smuggling attempt involving 325 kg of methamphetamine from a Thailand‑Indonesia network, arresting two suspects and seizing assets valued at roughly Rp 585 billion.

Polresta Palangka Raya reported 36 cases, detaining 46 dealers and seizing about 941 g of meth, 356 g of ecstasy tablets and 606 g of other hard drugs, together with nearly Rp 25 million in cash. Polda Jambi destroyed 52,963 ecstasy tablets, 147 g of meth and 887 vape cartridges containing liquid meth, and later arrested a regional prison official alleged to have supplied 536 ecstasy tablets.

The Bangka Belitung police seized 40 kg of methamphetamine, while Metro Jakarta police intercepted a courier with roughly 1 kg of meth and related equipment. These coordinated actions demonstrate a nationwide crackdown on drug trafficking, aiming to prevent the distribution of large quantities of illicit substances and to dismantle both domestic and international smuggling networks.
