Jamen Capital and Merlin acquire Curve Royalty Systems

Jamen Capital and Merlin have finalized the acquisition of Curve Royalty Systems from Virgin Music Group. The deal follows approval from the European Commission, which had mandated the divestiture of Curve as a condition for Universal Music Group’s $775 million acquisition of Downtown Music Holdings.

Under the new ownership, Curve will operate as an independent, standalone entity. The company’s management, including CEO Richard Leach, will remain in place, and the firm intends to maintain its existing team, products, and client relationships. The new owners stated that the acquisition provides the stability and resources necessary to accelerate innovation and develop new products to manage complex music royalty flows.
