James Bailey releases book exploring the meaning of life
James Bailey’s book, ‘The Meaning of Life: 105 Answers from the World’s Best,’ is being released by Diamond Inc. The work is the culmination of a ten-year project that began in 2015, during which Bailey sent letters to over 1,000 individuals worldwide to ask a fundamental question: ‘What is the meaning of life?’
From the responses, 105 diverse perspectives were gathered, including insights from former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, astronaut Helen Sharman, Google X co-founder Astro Teller, and Paralympic gold medalist David Smith. The contributors represent a wide spectrum of backgrounds, including scientists, explorers, writers, and even prisoners.
Bailey, who experienced life-threatening heart issues at age 17, emphasizes that the finitude of life is what gives it value. Through his interviews and research, he highlights the importance of finding personal fulfillment in the present moment rather than delaying happiness until retirement or chasing external validation.
