James Bay resident honors late loved one with hidden resin turtles
In memory of a woman named Dorothy, who passed away this spring, her sister-in-law Pam Olund has begun placing tiny resin turtles in various hiding spots throughout James Bay and Beacon Hill Park.
Dorothy found great joy in visiting Goodacre Lake to count turtles during her periods of health between chemotherapy treatments. To honor her legacy of kindness and her desire to make others feel seen and loved, Olund is hiding the small figurines in public spaces. The goal of the gesture is to provide visitors with a moment of happiness and a reminder that they are not alone.
