James Blunt denies allegations regarding Hayden Panettiere

British singer James Blunt has denied online allegations linking him to a distressing encounter described in the late actress Hayden Panettiere’s memoir, ‘This Is Me: A Reckoning’. Following Panettiere’s recent death, social media speculation suggested Blunt was the unnamed ‘very famous British musician’ who allegedly exposed her to an uncomfortable situation on a yacht when she was 18 years old.

Blunt addressed the rumors on X by sharing an article by journalist Dean Piper to dispel the claims. Supporters of the denial point to chronological inconsistencies; while Panettiere described the incident occurring when she was 18, photographs of Blunt and Panettiere together at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival show her being nearly 20 years old at that time. Piper noted that the timeline and the nature of their public interactions do not align with the account provided in the autobiography.
