James Bond films win multiple Academy Awards

The James Bond film franchise has secured several Academy Awards, primarily in technical categories rather than artistic ones.

'Goldfinger' (1965) was the first Bond film to win an Oscar, receiving the award for Best Sound Effects awarded to Norman Wanstall. Shortly after, John Stears won for Best Visual Effects for 'Thunderball'.

After a 47-year gap, the franchise returned to the Oscars in 2013 with 'Skyfall'. The film earned awards for Best Sound Editing (Per Hallberg and Karen Baker Landers) and Best Original Song for the title track, performed by Adele and written by Paul Epworth. 'Skyfall' remains the James Bond film with the most Academy Award wins.
