James Carville slams Trump’s Iran war strategy and warns of possible presidential resignation

Democratic strategist James Carville accused President Donald Trump of “shooting our wad” in the United States’ war against Iran, saying the country’s munitions stockpiles are dangerously low and that aircraft carriers are over‑deployed. Carville claimed senior military officials are asking lower‑rank troops for ideas to end the conflict, indicating a deteriorating situation.

Carville also predicted that after a decisive loss in the November election, Trump might choose to resign and install JD Vance as president, allowing Vance to issue a sweeping pardon for Trump, a maneuver Carville likened to Richard Nixon’s 1974 resignation.

These comments highlight internal criticism of U.S. policy in the Middle‑East and speculation about Trump’s potential exit strategy ahead of the 2024 election.
