James Cattrall to volunteer for trauma support after severe car crash

James Cattrall, a 34-year-old father from Alton, is preparing to become a peer support volunteer with Day One Trauma Support following a severe car accident in July 2022. The collision with a van at 60mph resulted in extensive injuries, including multiple fractures to his arm, ribs, sternum, ankle, and spine, with his legs being the most severely affected.

After spending eight weeks at Southampton General Hospital, Cattrall faced a long period of confinement and total reliance on others for basic needs. He is now using his experience of rebuilding his life to help others cope with the psychological and physical aftermath of serious traumatic injuries.
