James Gray announces ‘Paper Tiger’ starring Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson

Director James Gray has announced the upcoming release of his crime thriller, ‘Paper Tiger’. The film stars Adam Driver, Scarlett Johansson, and Miles Teller. A trailer for the project is scheduled for release on September 22.

Set in Queens, New York, in 1986, the story follows Gary Pearl (Driver), a former police officer, and his brother Irwin (Teller). The brothers become entangled in a business scheme involving the Russian mafia that leads to violence and corruption. Scarlett Johansson portrays Hester (or Linda) Pearl, Irwin’s wife.

Following its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, the film has garnered significant awards buzz. Neon will handle the North American distribution, with a limited theatrical release starting November 13, 2026, followed by a nationwide expansion on November 20, 2026.
