James Gunn addresses Peacemaker and Flash rumors

DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn has provided cryptic responses on social media regarding the future of key characters within the DC Universe (DCU).

Addressing fan inquiries about the return of Peacemaker, played by John Cena, Gunn responded to a question on Threads with a single thinking-face emoji. This follows the Season 2 finale of Peacemaker, which left the character stranded on the hostile world of Salvation. While Gunn previously noted that the show as currently known might be finished, he indicated that the characters would return in some form within the DCU in the future.

Gunn also addressed rumors concerning Grant Gustin’s potential return as the Flash. When asked about rumors suggesting Gustin might appear as a comic book variant in the DCU, Gunn replied, “Please define ‘decent rumor,”” accompanied by a laughing emoji. These interactions have fueled ongoing speculation among fans regarding how much overlap will exist between previous iterations of DC characters and Gunn’s new cinematic universe.
