James Gunn addresses Tom Holland joining the DCU

James Gunn, head of DC Studios, addressed speculation regarding whether Tom Holland could transition from the Marvel Cinematic Universe to the DC Universe (DCU). In response to a user suggesting Holland take on roles such as Beast Boy, Aqualad, or Kid Flash, Gunn offered an ironic remark, stating, ‘I am not sure a thirty-year-old Tom wants to go from Spider-Man to Aqualad’.

The comment highlights the age gap between the actor and several of the younger characters proposed. Following the commercial success of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Holland has indicated he intends to continue portraying Peter Parker for as long as he is requested, maintaining his ties to the Marvel franchise.
