James Gunn declines early reveals for Brainiac and Superman suit

Director James Gunn has declined requests to release early images of the villain Brainiac or the updated Superman suit from the upcoming film ‘Man of Tomorrow’. Responding to fans on Threads, Gunn expressed a preference for audiences to experience character reveals and suit designs for the first time in theaters to avoid internet spoilers.

While acknowledging that modern blockbuster marketing requires some promotional material, Gunn stated, “I’d rather show people nothing and have people see everything in theaters.”

Brainiac, portrayed by Lars Eidinger, will make his first live-action appearance in the film as a super-intelligent alien. Gunn has characterized the villain as a figure representing intelligence stripped of all human connection, serving as a direct foil to Superman.
