James Maddison praised by Paul Scholes amid Tottenham injury concerns
Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has praised Tottenham Hotspur playmaker James Maddison, stating that the midfielder makes the team play ‘good football’ when fit and available.
Maddison has faced significant injury challenges, including an ACL rupture last season and a recent shoulder injury sustained during a match against Brentford. The shoulder issue has sidelined the England international for several matches, including games against Newcastle United, Charlton Athletic, and Nottingham Forest.
Scholes, speaking on ‘The Good, The Bad and The Football’ podcast alongside Nicky Butt, urged manager Roberto De Zerbi to integrate Maddison into the starting eleven as soon as possible to address Tottenham’s recent struggles in scoring. Maddison may be able to return to action this weekend against Everton.
