William & Mary took an early 1-0 lead in the first quarter following a goal by Samantha Daly. James Madison responded in the third quarter with two goals from Azul Covarrubias, both assisted by Brynna Hill via penalty corners.

William & Mary managed to equalize in the fourth quarter when Hailey Haynes scored at the 49:48 mark. However, James Madison secured the victory with just 31 seconds remaining in the game after Avery Ruckman converted a pass from Diede Donders.
