James Marsden to star in Apple TV+ comedy series Bad News Dads

James Marsden will headline the upcoming Apple TV+ half‑hour comedy series Bad News Dads, playing Ben, a member of an amateur baseball league who becomes embroiled in a murder investigation after a teammate’s wife dies in a mysterious accident. Marsden also serves as an executive producer.

The series is adapted from the forthcoming novel of the same name by Adam Frost and is written by Stephen Falk, creator of You’re the Worst. Executive producers include Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman and Robbie Rogers. No official release window has been announced.

In addition to Bad News Dads, Marsden is attached to the Apple TV+ thriller Disavowed, where he will portray CIA officer Brad Griffin, and he is slated to appear in the MCU film Avengers: Doomsday later this year.
