James Michael Doss transferred to prison for 325-year sentence
James Michael Doss, 67, has been transferred to the Kilby Correctional Facility in Montgomery County to serve a 325-year prison sentence. The sentence follows Doss's guilty plea to 12 child sex crime charges in Cullman County.
Doss pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree sodomy, two counts of sexual abuse of a child younger than 12, one count of production of child pornography, and seven counts of possession of child pornography. Cullman County District Attorney Champ Crocker stated that the sentences were ordered to be served consecutively following a blind plea in which Doss did not reach a sentencing agreement with prosecutors.
Crocker noted that Doss showed no remorse following the sentencing by Cullman County Circuit Court Judge Emily Niezer Johnston. The District Attorney credited the victims and local law enforcement for their roles in the investigation and prosecution.
