James Riady says Lippo malls will not add new security fences
James Riady, chief executive officer of Indonesia's Lippo Group, announced that none of the company's shopping centres will install additional security fences. He said that over the past ten years any existing fences have been removed to keep access open for the public.
Riady linked the policy to confidence in Indonesia’s economic outlook and cited President Prabowo Subianto’s vision for stronger national growth. He also highlighted the country’s appeal to foreign technology investors, especially in artificial‑intelligence and robotics projects centred on Batam and the Jakarta‑Karawang corridor.
