James Ume receives African Hero Award in London

Chief James Ume, also known as ‘Ike Abam’, has been conferred with the African Hero Award 2026 at the Voice African Achievers Awards held in London. The recognition honors Ume for his extensive philanthropic, media, and community-focused work across Nigeria.

Rt. Hon. Agwu Agwu, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Abia State University (ABSU), congratulated Ume, noting that the award brings honor to the Abam community. The recognition highlights Ume’s impact through the Unubiko Foundation, which has supported educational scholarships, the elderly, and vulnerable populations, as well as his contributions to the media via the Whisperer and Koos Media platforms.
