Jameson Williams addresses early season drops with Detroit Lions

Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams has addressed his early-season struggles, specifically regarding his league-leading five drops through the first four games of the season. Despite the errors, Williams expressed confidence in his ability to rebound, stating, “It’s a long game. With the drops you still can have an excellent game.”

Williams noted that he is focused on playing freely and performing his job without being weighed down by mistakes. He also praised receivers coach Scottie Montgomery for his rigorous coaching style, noting that Montgomery demands constant focus in the meeting room and on the field.

While the drops have been a point of scrutiny, Lions offensive coordinator Drew Petzing indicated that the coaching staff maintains confidence in Williams, noting his productivity has shown signs of increasing, including a recent performance against the Carolina Panthers where he recorded six receptions for 102 yards.
