Bamber noted that the BBC is currently facing threats and is undergoing a charter renewal process to determine its governance, editorial independence, and public duties. He also highlighted the international respect the broadcaster receives, contrasting it with domestic criticisms. The BBC’s primary funding source, the TV licence fee, recently increased to £180 per year.
