Jamie Campbell Bower discusses ‘Stranger Things’ role at Comic-Con

Actor Jamie Campbell Bower shared insights regarding his role as the antagonist Vecna in the Netflix series ‘Stranger Things’ during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2026. Bower revealed that following the fourth season, he had requested that his character be given shoes to cover his bare feet, though production ultimately maintained the character's original appearance for the fifth season.

Bower also discussed the intensive physical transformation required for the role, noting that he spent seven to nine hours in makeup for each transformation. The process involved a team of 15 to 20 artists applying approximately 25 prosthetic pieces made of foam latex and silicone.

Reflecting on the series following its conclusion in early 2026, Bower addressed the enduring popularity of the show and the various fan theories circulating online. He specifically noted the persistence of fans who believed additional episodes would be produced after the series finale.
