Jamie Flick announces Oct. 5 events for Pennsylvania custody reform bill

Pennsylvania State Representative Jamie Flick has announced a series of events at the State Capitol on Monday, Oct. 5, to promote House Bill 1499, a piece of child custody reform legislation. The scheduled activities include a press conference, a House Judiciary Committee public hearing, and a public panel.

Authored by Flick, House Bill 1499 aims to ensure fairness in custody determinations and protect the rights of children to have equal access to both parents, provided they are willing, able, and fit. The legislation currently has 78 co-sponsors from both political parties and has garnered a grassroots petition with more than 2,800 signatures.

Speakers for the upcoming press conference include representatives from National Family Justice, the National Council for Equal Shared Parenting, the Dads’ Resource Center, and the Professional Alliance for Child Centered Safety, along with legal and former legislative experts.
