Jamie Foxx discusses health recovery and new standup special
Actor, comedian, and singer Jamie Foxx has spoken about his recovery following a major health crisis in 2023. Foxx revealed in an interview that he experienced a brain bleed which resulted in a stroke.
Foxx noted that medical staff informed him his chances of survival were slim, describing him as a ‘three percenter’ because fewer than 3% of patients with his condition survive. He credited his recovery to the support of friends and family, noting that he previously required a wheelchair.
Following his recovery, which included activities like playing pickleball, Foxx is returning to standup comedy. His upcoming project is a Hulu standup special titled ‘Take Care of Yourself’, which was filmed in Oakland, California.
