Jamie Lee Curtis has addressed the controversy surrounding her recent comments about the sitcom ‘New Girl’, urging the public to ‘move on’ from the discussion. The actress clarified that her previous remarks, which were perceived as criticism of the show, were actually intended to highlight her preference for multi-camera sitcoms that feature live studio audiences.
In an Instagram post, Curtis described her earlier comments as ‘flip’ and emphasized that she finds the ‘New Girl’ cast and crew highly talented, specifically calling Zooey Deschanel ‘an absolute gem of a human’. She noted that while filming the single-camera comedy was not her favorite experience due to the lack of immediate audience feedback, she holds the production in high regard.
Curtis used the opportunity to promote her new co-created sitcom, ‘Newlyweds’, which stars Tea Leoni and Tim Daly. She urged followers not to ‘waste clicks and comments’ on the matter, suggesting that there are more pressing global and national issues to focus on.
