Jamie Lee Curtis discusses 42-year marriage to Christopher Guest

Actress Jamie Lee Curtis recently shared details regarding her 42-year marriage to Christopher Guest during a presentation for her new NBC series, ‘Newlyweds’. Curtis described the early stages of their relationship, noting that they had spent less than 72 consecutive hours together before marrying.

The actress recounted how she first decided she would marry Guest after seeing his photograph in a Rolling Stone magazine in 1984. Following a chance encounter at a restaurant in West Hollywood, the couple began dating in July 1984 and married on December 18, 1984, approximately six months after their first date.

Curtis characterized the couple as complete opposites and noted that while their marriage has faced difficulties, they have remained committed to one another. She humorously remarked that the secret to their long-term relationship is simply that they do not leave.
