Jamie Miller discusses career struggles and breakthrough with ‘Babydoll’
Singer-songwriter Jamie Miller has shared details regarding his decade-long struggle to achieve a breakthrough in the music industry. The Cardiff-born artist, currently based in Los Angeles, revealed via Instagram that he had nearly decided to quit music before the success of his song, ‘Babydoll’.
Miller, who rose to prominence as a third-place finalist on The Voice UK in 2017, noted that he had promised himself at the start of the year to give his career one final attempt on his own terms. He expressed that he felt pressured by the industry to change his style, but decided to focus on writing music he personally loved.
Since gaining recognition, Miller has signed with Atlantic Records and BMG, releasing projects such as the EP Broken Memories and the album Long Way Home. He has also collaborated with artists including Tori Kelly, Young K, and Moira Dela Torre.
