Jamie Miller reaches UK number one with Babydoll

Cardiff-born singer Jamie Miller has reached the top of the UK Official Singles Chart with his track ‘Babydoll’. The achievement marks a significant milestone for Welsh music, as Miller is the first Welsh artist to secure a number-one single in 15 years.

He is also the first solo male artist from Wales to top the charts in 41 years, a record previously held by Shakin’ Stevens in 1985. The track, a collaboration with Antonio Cipriano, narrowly beat Tate McRae’s ‘Housewife’ by a margin of 556 chart units.

The song’s ascent followed viral momentum on social media, including engagement from actress Jennifer Love Hewitt, which helped spark a dance trend on TikTok. Miller, who had previously considered leaving the music industry, expressed profound gratitude for the achievement.
