Jamie Oldham breaks Jersey 100m record at Commonwealth Games

Jamie Oldham, a 20‑year‑old sprinter, set a new Jersey 100‑metre record of 10.41 seconds in the heats of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. His time surpassed the previous island best of 10.48 seconds set by Steven Mackay and placed him second behind Ghana’s Benjamin Azamati (10.00), though it was not enough to reach the semi‑finals, which take the top 17 runners.

Oldham was part of Jersey’s first ever full contingent in the 100 m, joined by Steven Mackay, who ran a season‑best 10.68, and Zachary Saunders, who clocked 10.72. All three will contest the 200 m later in the competition.
