Jamie Varley and John McGowan‑Fazakery Sentenced for Preston Davey Abuse, Held in Separate High‑Security Prisons
Jamie Varley, 37, was given a whole‑life order for the murder and sexual abuse of 13‑month‑old Preston Davey and transferred to HMP Wakefield, a Category A facility known as “Monster Mansion”. Insiders say he spent his first night in solitary sobbing as fellow inmates shouted threats, and he remains under round‑the‑clock guard and suicide watch.
John McGowan‑Fazakery, 32, received a 25‑year sentence for child cruelty and related offences. Prison officials plan to place him in HMP Manchester (Strangeways), keeping the two perpetrators apart for the rest of their lives. Both men are expected to spend most of their time in segregation, isolated from the general prison population for their own safety amid reported bounty threats from other inmates.
