Jamin “Jay” Demar Williams trial resumes as jury deliberates under Indio bridge stabbing

Jury deliberations continued Thursday in the Riverside County Superior Court trial of Jamin “Jay” Demar Williams, who is accused of repeatedly stabbing his girlfriend under a bridge in Indio, California. Williams faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon resulting in great bodily injury, domestic violence, and a sentence‑enhancing allegation of using a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony.

According to the district attorney’s brief, the assault occurred on April 22, 2024, after a dispute inside a tent the pair shared beneath the Golf Center Parkway Bridge. Prosecutors say Williams punched, kicked and then stabbed the victim multiple times, inflicting wounds to her neck, arm, shoulder and behind her ear before she escaped to a nearby 7‑Eleven and called 911. Police detained Williams without bail at the Robert Presley Jail, and he remains held without bail pending a verdict. Judge Laura Garcia oversaw the proceedings, directing jurors to reconvene after a brief initial deliberation.
