Jammerbugt Municipality opens nominations for 2026 community award

Jammerbugt Municipality has opened nominations for the ‘Årets Ildsjæl 2026’ (Soul of the Year 2026) award. The prize, which has been awarded annually since 2009, recognizes individuals or groups who make a significant impact on the local community through initiatives that support culture, leisure, and rural development.

Citizens are encouraged to nominate candidates who foster community engagement and create positive local activities. The previous winner, Torben Sørensen, was honored for his extensive volunteer work in Vester Hjermitslev, including the establishment of community hubs and green spaces.

In separate municipal news, a recent Jammerbugt City Council meeting addressed several local issues, including discussions regarding Biersted, including matters related to Biersted School and housing developments.
