Jammu Airport: CISF jawan critically injured in gunshot incident

A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawan, identified as Sunil Jasrotia, was critically injured after a gunshot incident at Jammu Airport on Tuesday. The incident occurred near the airport’s exit gate while Jasrotia was on security duty.

Initial reports suggest the injury may have resulted from an accidental discharge of his service rifle, though officials have not yet confirmed the motive or the exact circumstances. Jasrotia, a 36-year-old resident of Kathua district, was evacuated to Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital in Jammu, where doctors described his condition as critical.

Police have launched an investigation to determine the precise cause of the discharge. While the gunshot caused momentary alarm among travelers at the airport, operations were not significantly disrupted.
