Jammu and Kashmir aims to keep top rank in Har Ghar Tiranga 2026 campaign

Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo chaired a high‑level meeting of administrative secretaries, divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners and department heads to review preparations for the Har Ghar Tiranga‑2026 campaign, scheduled for August 9‑17 as part of the third phase of the 150‑year Vande Mataram celebrations. He directed that every panchayat, urban local body and educational institution across all 20 districts be involved, that flags be procured through local Self‑Help Groups and the Department of Posts in strict compliance with the Flag Code of India, and that extensive awareness drives be carried out by the Department of Information and Public Relations.

The Union Territory‑level flagship event will be held on August 12 in Srinagar, beginning on the lawns of the Sher‑i‑Kashmir International Conference Centre and concluding at the Botanical Garden. The programme includes a Tiranga Bike Rally with paramilitary forces and police, a Tiranga Mela showcasing local handicrafts and SHG products, patriotic cultural performances, exhibitions on the national flag and the freedom movement, and tricolour‑themed activities in schools and colleges. More than 1.4 million flags have been requisitioned, and citizens are encouraged to upload photographs of their participation on the official portal.
