Jammu and Kashmir cabinet to meet in Srinagar on September 10

The Jammu and Kashmir Council of Ministers, led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, is scheduled to meet in Srinagar on September 10. The primary objective of the meeting is to finalize the legislative agenda for the upcoming autumn session of the Union Territory Legislative Assembly, which is set to begin on September 21.

A key item on the agenda is the revised Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Bill. This legislation aims to significantly reduce the requirement for No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from various government agencies. The revised draft addresses previous concerns raised by the Industries and Commerce, Housing and Urban Development, and Fire Services departments.

This meeting marks the first cabinet session following Chief Minister Abdullah’s September 4 meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi, where topics such as statehood, business rules, and reservation were discussed. In addition to the EODB Bill, the cabinet will address routine administrative matters, policy proposals, and personnel transfers.
