Jammu and Kashmir Government Issues Motor Garages Recruitment Rules, Regularises Engineers

The Jammu and Kashmir Government has notified new recruitment, promotion and service rules for the State Motor Garages (Subordinate) Service. The rules create a dedicated subordinate service with a sanctioned strength of 815 posts across 32 categories, ranging from Section Officer to Sanitation Worker. Appointments will be made through direct recruitment by the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB), promotion committees or deputation, with qualifications, probation, training and reservation provisions as per the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation Act.

In a separate order, the government regularised 11 in‑charge engineers in the Public Works (Roads and Buildings) Department. Seven engineers were regularised as Assistant Executive Engineers (Civil) and four as Executive Engineers (Civil) with retrospective effect dates from September 2013 to May 2021. The order specifies the applicable pre‑revised pay scales and grade pays for the regularised posts.
