Jammu and Kashmir High Court orders probe into alleged judicial decree fabrication

The High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh has refused to quash an FIR involving the alleged fabrication of a civil court decree used to secure land mutations in Baramulla. The case surfaced after an Anti-Corruption Bureau official discovered that a purported judicial decree from 2021 could not be located in the original court records, despite the existence of photocopies presented as certified copies.

Justice Sanjay Parihar ordered the transfer of the investigation from local police to the J&K Crime Branch. The Inspector General of Crimes, Kashmir, has been directed to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of senior officers to conduct a comprehensive probe into the alleged conspiracy involving judicial and revenue records. Additionally, the court granted interim bail to advocate Tabinda Nazir, one of the accused in the matter.
